This course is an introduction to central management concepts and practices. It assumes that effective management is essential for the firm's activity, producing more outputs of goods and services with given resources and expanding them through better use of science and technology. The course is designed for first-year undergraduate students and gives them elements from the history of economic and managerial thought, contemporary concepts and effective managerial practices. It is based on a blended pedagogy between theory and practice (gamification, case studies and teamwork).
